Camden Pierce Hughes
March 15, 2005 - May 14, 2011
On May 14, 2011 a little boy's lifeless body was placed under some trees at the end of our driveway.
A life taken, a smile forever gone.
Camden has touched the lives of those within his family, in South Berwick, Maine, surrounding areas, his community at home, as a country and even beyond. This blue eyed precious little six year old boy was loving, intelligent, gifted, enthusiastic, and happy. His short life has left us with memories of his love and his contagious laughter.
A fund, "Every Child Deserves Love," has been started in memory of Camden Pierce Hughes. This fund will be used to help at risk children in Africa. There are many Camdens in Africa that need a safe place, medical care, and food. There are so many children that are abandoned. They walk the streets hungry, scared, cold, sick and often times they have been repeatedly abused.
A poem that Linda Gove read at the closing of Camden's funeral: (author unknown)
One seed can start a garden
One smile can lift a spirit.
One candle can light a room,
One conversation can start a friendship.
One step can begin a journey,
One heart can love many.
One person can make all the difference -
That "one" is you.
You can help give a child hope for a better future.
